Hématomes Editions defines itself as a side project of NNstudio, an unconventional creative space whose purpose is the book in its broadest sense. While the fields of reflection explored are vast, priority is given to alternative critical writing and art research.
The project was launched in March 2021, with the aim of publishing 2 to 3 books per year and setting up a structure that will eventually find its own means of production.
In 2024, a distribution partnership was established with two publishers: GAR — Architecture archives, which publishes the Archidoc collection, and the non-profit organization urbAgora, which publishes the journal Dérivations. This partnership is manifested by the sale of their works on the Hématomes website, and by joint efforts in the dissemination and distribution of their respective catalogs.
