Description
Werner Moron’s work occupies the public space: the voice that wears itself out, the body surrendered to performance, the immediate impact of the painting. But in the interval between these bursts of activity lies the silence of the studio. Hundreds of sheets, scraps of paper and spontaneous sketches accumulated over the years. This book seeks neither to preserve a record nor to present a conventional retrospective. It arose from a friendly foray into the artist’s drawers. Guided solely by intuition, Hématomes Publishers have roused more than 200 drawings from their slumber. Here we discover a language that is more raw, more secret. The line is free, at times violent, often vulnerable. It is the other side of the story. The blind spot of a major body of work, brought to light by the pure subjectivity of an editorial eye.
